Located in Northlake, Texas, the How U Doin Foundation Pizza Kitchen is more than a place to cook. It is the heartbeat of our Clubhouse.
This state of the art pizza kitchen was intentionally designed as the primary hook to invite teens through the doors and keep them coming back. Pizza is universal. It lowers defenses. It sparks conversation. It creates instant connection.
When teens walk into this space, they do not feel like they have entered a program. They feel like they have entered something fun.
And that is where transformation begins.
At the How U Doin Foundation in Northlake, our Pizza Kitchen supports two of our Four Core Elements, Fun and Connection.
Teens learn to make dough from scratch, stretch and shape pizza, experiment with flavors and creativity, and work as a team in a shared process.
We also integrate process based group conversations while making pizza, using the act of kneading dough and building a pie as natural conversation starters.
Making pizza becomes an icebreaker, a trust builder, a leadership opportunity, and a safe entry point into deeper discussion.
This experiential approach allows teens in Northlake, Denton County, and surrounding North Texas communities to strengthen mental health through shared experience rather than formal therapy.
The Pizza Kitchen will also host parent date nights and family pizza gatherings, creating additional layers of connection and support for families in Northlake and surrounding communities.
As teens learn how to make pizza, families will be invited to learn alongside them. The goal is not just to create great pizza inside the Clubhouse, but to equip families with the tools and confidence to take the experience home.
When families make pizza together at home, they continue the conversation. They continue the connection. They continue building rapport around the kitchen table.
This creates a powerful synergy between learning at the Clubhouse and strengthening relationships at home.
The Pizza Kitchen will regularly host guest pizza makers from Northlake and Denton County, across Texas, and national and international pizza leaders.
Each guest shares their story, makes their favorite pizza, and offers lessons about perseverance, creativity, entrepreneurship, and purpose.
These events create powerful mentorship moments, exposing teens to leaders who built something meaningful, often after overcoming adversity.
Pizza becomes the platform for purpose.
